BAG Seminar and Evening Reception- 29 September 2021 * Don't forget to book your tickets!*

BAG is looking forward to our LIVE BAG Seminar & Evening Reception on Wednesday 29 September 2021 at The Brewery, London. [This is the date reserved for what would traditionally be the BAG Annual Dinner].

We are delighted to announce that the event will feature a message from Robert Courts MP, Minister for Aviation. The event will provide an ideal opportunity to come together as the aviation community, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, to network with leading airport clients, representatives of UK Government and colleagues from across the UK supply chain and we are delighted that key stakeholders from Heathrow Airport, Gatwick Airport, London City Airport, Leeds Bradford Airport, Bristol Airport, IATA, ADS, Department for International Trade as well as Department for Transport are confirmed to attend the event.

The Seminar will be facilitated by Darrell Swanson, BAG Board Member and Dan Jones, BAG Board Member and our Guest Speakers include:

  • Rohit Talwar, Global Futurist / CEO, Fast Future
  • Gary Cutts ISCF Future Flight Challenge Director
  • Catherine Phillips Innovation Architect, Heathrow Airport
  • Mike Miller-Smith MBE FRAeS Chief Executive, Aerobility
  • Jenny Ward Deputy Director for Aviation Strategy, Consumers and Innovation- Department for Transport (DfT)

We are pleased to confirm our Event Sponsors Bechtel CorporationGardiner & Theobald LLP and CEM Systems.

As restrictions lift and industry begins to recover, we wanted our first in-person event of the year to be as inclusive as possible providing an opportunity for networking to take place between members, their guests and other organisations active in the sector in a safe and relaxed manner.

The networking event incorporates our traditional Summer Seminar, postponed from late June, as a late afternoon session preceding the evening reception. The seminar is themed around “Innovation in Aviation” and will be in the form of a conference style session of about ninety minutes on key topics affecting the UK and international aviation industry.

Following the seminar there will be a reception with canapés, bowl food and free-flowing drinks throughout the evening, providing ample opportunity for networking.

To keep you safe the event will be running according to COVID related Government and venue guidelines of which you can find here.

BAG Response to Jet Zero Consultation and BAG Sustainability Policy

Last week, the British Aviation Group submitted our response to the Department for Transport’s (DfT) Jet Zero Consultation.
BAG recognises that the aviation sector delivers significant social and economic benefit at both a national and global level, but that delivering these benefits needs to be achieved in a way that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.  To ensure this all sectors of the aviation industry must improve their sustainability performance to combat climate change, address the biodiversity crisis and restore the environmental conditions which the planet and humanity requires. Thank you to all BAG members who have contributed in developing our response.

BAG has also developed a new Sustainability Policy which outlines our commitment to sustainability through client, member and external engagement.
Please find the article and documents here.

BAG Board Elections Update
Further to the recent call for nominations for the BAG Board we have received a total of six applications, all of which meet the eligibility criteria for Board membership. As this matches the number of Board vacancies this year, there is no need to run an election process and we will not be calling for votes. In line with the BAG Constitution the six nominations will be put forward for formal ratification at our Annual Meeting, which is scheduled to take place on 29 September, with names of the successful candidates to be announced at the evening reception following that meeting.

The British Aviation Group will be hosting for the first time the UK Pavilion at inter airport europe on 9-12 November 2021 in a prominent area in Hall 6 adjacent to one of the doors leading to the external exhibition area. This will be the 23rd edition of inter airport europe, the world’s leading airport exhibition, which covers all areas of airport-related technology, equipment, and services, all in one place.  As part of the TERMINAL segment, the show offers solutions and equipment for the construction and operation of terminal buildings, the architectural design, equipment, and planning stage of the airport. The DATA area covers airport IT systems, data management solutions as well as connected systems and IT processes to handle passengers, operations as well as air traffic. The RAMP segment covers ground handling, ground support equipment, runway constructions and installations.

Benefits of exhibiting within the UK Pavilion:

  • Support pre-show and during the show by a dedicated Event Manager
  • Entry to the UK Pavilion exhibitor brochure
  • Access to catering and meeting table area on BAG stand
  • Additional promotion of your presence by BAG and the event organisers

Our sponsorship package includes many benefits and is an affordable way to meet those all-important industry contacts. This is a great opportunity to be present at the show without taking a full stand and has proven very popular at other big shows such as PTE. BAG is therefore looking at the option to offer a similar sponsorship opportunity – i.e. a logo and lounge package for inter airport Europe.

Stand Package

  • Logo on dedicated wall within the BAG UK Pavilion lounge (logos will be in Alpha order)
  • QR code for lead capture opportunities
  • Inclusion in the event guide
  • Inclusion in the online event guide
  • Support pre-show and during the show by a dedicated Event Manager
  • Entry to the UK Pavilion exhibitor brochure
  • Access to catering and meeting table area on BAG stand

Should this option be of interest to you please email Claire Parsons to register your interest by 24 September and she will send out cost and package information. For more information on the UK Pavilion, please click here.

5th British-Irish Airports EXPO – in strategic partnership with British Aviation Group 22 & 23 June 2021

British Aviation Group backs 5th British-Irish Airports EXPO as “Shopwindow for BAG members” on platform with Heathrow, Manchester Airports Group and Gatwick.
British Aviation Group has once again thrown its weight behind the UK’s biggest airport trade show as it moves from Olympia to ExCeL London on 22-23 June. The EXPO, which typically comprises up to 150 exhibitors, six free to attend conferences, and draws over 2,300 visitors, has been closely associated with BAG since the very first event was hosted by Birmingham Airport at the NEC in 2016.
Commenting on the renewed partnership, Graham Bolton, Chair, British Aviation Group said: “It’s very important to us that we maintain our position as a Strategic Partner of the British-Irish Airports EXPO. The EXPO event is, by any measure, the biggest and most connected airport trade show in the UK and provides a unique shopwindow for the world beating products and services that our members have to offer. Our partnership very much allows us to think of this as ‘our home show’ – which is accessible to the widest possible cross section of the membership. I encourage all of our members to engage, get involved, and fully take advantage of this ‘special relationship’ and the valuable 10% exhibition discount available to all BAG members.”
Alongside the Hosting Airport Coalition, BAG is joined by the Regional and Business Airports Group (RABA), the regional airports trade association of over 40 UK and British Dependency airports.

Registration to attend the EXPO and the six free conferences is free-of-charge.
To exhibit (and 10% discount on published exhibition prices for BAG members) contact
Steve O’Connor, Sales Director.
