We work with and across a large number of organisations, partners, and supporting bodies to deliver a range of highly valued activities and services on behalf of our sector and the members we support. Whether representing industry or driving forward innovation, BAG is at the forefront of these activities.

We highlight UK aviation market connectivity with the purpose of sharing best practice and increasing the profile of the UK industry .

Our work is structured around the following aspects:

  • Raise profile of BAG and its members in the ecosystem

  • Project BAG’s point of view
  • Improve BAG’s access to information

  • Common voice for the ecosystem
  • Stronger interaction

Department for Business and Trade

The Department for Business and Trade is the department for economic growth. It supports businesses to invest, grow and export, creating jobs and opportunities across the country.

The British Aviation Group works closely with the Airport Sector Team in DBT and colleagues in British Embassies around the world to support their services in the UK and globally for the benefit of its members. We coordinate closely with DBT on our priority markets, and support BAG members and liaise with DBT in identifying and capitalising on opportunities as well as informing the ecosystem around trade policy overseas and domestic.

Department for Transport

The DfT Co-Chairs the Government’s Jet Zero Council where BAG sits on the Zero Emissions Flight Delivery Group and Infrastructure Sub-Group. The Council is a partnership between industry and government to bring together ministers and chief executive officer-level stakeholders, with the aim of delivering zero-emission transatlantic flight within a generation, driving the ambitious delivery of new technologies and innovative ways to cut aviation emissions.

ADS Group

ADS is the UK trade association advancing leadership in aerospace, defence, security and space, to enable prosperity and clean, secure growth for our nation. BAG operates under the ADS Group Ltd umbrella and is open to both ADS Members and non-ADS members. Further information on ADS can be found at www.adsgroup.org.uk.

Sustainable Aviation

Several years ago, all parts of the aviation sector came together to produce a long term strategy setting out the collective approach of UK aviation to tackle the challenge of ensuring a sustainable future for our industry. The group arising from this initiative is called Sustainable Aviation, and brings together the main players from UK airlines, airports, manufacturers and air navigation service providers. BAG is a full member of Sustainable Aviation and participates in all Working Groups regularly. Home | Sustainable Aviation

The BAG Board nominates Airport Operators, other relevant bodies or organisations as strategic partners to BAG to give access for BAG members to these purchasers of their skills and/or services and/or equipment. For our members, we seek to provide greater visibility of potential opportunities and project pipelines, greater knowledge of clients’ organisations and a broader understanding of and involvement in discussions between government and industry. Our members want to understand market drivers and clients’ needs, priorities and ambitions in order to optimise their offer.
Currently our Strategic Partners include the following:

  • Heathrow Airport
  • Gatwick Airport
  • Manchester Airport Group
  • Connected Places Catapult
