You are here: Home » About the British Aviation Group » Who We Work With
We work with and across a large number of organisations, partners, and supporting bodies to deliver a range of highly valued activities and services on behalf of our sector and the members we support. Whether representing industry or driving forward innovation, BAG is at the forefront of these activities.
We highlight UK aviation market connectivity with the purpose of sharing best practice and increasing the profile of the UK industry .
Our work is structured around the following aspects:
The Department for Business and Trade is the department for economic growth. It supports businesses to invest, grow and export, creating jobs and opportunities across the country.
The British Aviation Group works closely with the Airport Sector Team in DBT and colleagues in British Embassies around the world to support their services in the UK and globally for the benefit of its members. We coordinate closely with DBT on our priority markets, and support BAG members and liaise with DBT in identifying and capitalising on opportunities as well as informing the ecosystem around trade policy overseas and domestic.

The DfT Co-Chairs the Government’s Jet Zero Council where BAG sits on the Zero Emissions Flight Delivery Group and Infrastructure Sub-Group. The Council is a partnership between industry and government to bring together ministers and chief executive officer-level stakeholders, with the aim of delivering zero-emission transatlantic flight within a generation, driving the ambitious delivery of new technologies and innovative ways to cut aviation emissions.
ADS is the UK trade association advancing leadership in aerospace, defence, security and space, to enable prosperity and clean, secure growth for our nation. BAG operates under the ADS Group Ltd umbrella and is open to both ADS Members and non-ADS members. Further information on ADS can be found at www.adsgroup.org.uk.
Several years ago, all parts of the aviation sector came together to produce a long term strategy setting out the collective approach of UK aviation to tackle the challenge of ensuring a sustainable future for our industry. The group arising from this initiative is called Sustainable Aviation, and brings together the main players from UK airlines, airports, manufacturers and air navigation service providers. BAG is a full member of Sustainable Aviation and participates in all Working Groups regularly. Home | Sustainable Aviation
The BAG Board nominates Airport Operators, other relevant bodies or organisations as strategic partners to BAG to give access for BAG members to these purchasers of their skills and/or services and/or equipment. For our members, we seek to provide greater visibility of potential opportunities and project pipelines, greater knowledge of clients’ organisations and a broader understanding of and involvement in discussions between government and industry. Our members want to understand market drivers and clients’ needs, priorities and ambitions in order to optimise their offer.
Currently our Strategic Partners include the following:
The Airport Consultants Council (ACC) headquartered in Washington D.C. is a global trade association that represents private businesses involved in the development and operation of airports and their related facilities. Part of ACC’s mission is to inform its members of new trends while promoting fair competition and procurement practices that protect the industry’s bottom line. BAG and ACC engage regularly for knowledge exchange and collaboration between both groups. Home – Airport Consultants Council
Recognising the potential benefit for the members of both V4+ Airports and BAG of strengthening the relationships between the groups, BAG and V4+ Airports Association are committed to cooperating in the sharing of UK and Central and Eastern Europe experiences and best practices in the airports sector. BAG and V4+ Airports Association signed an MOU in 2023 to provide a framework for further collaboration between the groups. V4+Airports
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is the trade association for the world’s airlines, representing some 320 airlines or 83% of total air traffic. BAG regularly engages with IATA through our various Events, Groups and activities.
