BAG Members' Survey - Industry Priorities for 2022

The BAG Board is keen to ensure that our agenda responds to the needs of the membership, and that we continually review and improve the service we offer based on your feedback. Our annual survey provides a key opportunity to gauge how we are performing, and to help inform our planning process for the year ahead.

This year we have tailored the survey to focus more on the wider challenges facing the industry and priorities to support recovery – which will help provide an agenda and evidence base for engagement with government and other strategic partners, as well as our own plans for 2022. Key findings from the survey will be shared with government both directly through DIT and DfT, and in our engagement with the Future of Aviation Group. Conclusions will also be shared with the membership.

The structure of the survey falls into three short sections:

  • COVID-19 Impact

To understand overall impact of the pandemic across the aviation supply chain – using a consistent set of questions to help identify trends. This provides an evidence base that is shared with government (DIT & DfT) to help inform policy; and is used by us in shaping our own agenda

  • Brexit Impact

Allowing us to respond to DIT on industry experiences and concerns in respect of Brexit, and highlighting areas where BAG could do more in sharing information or industry positioning

  • Industry Priorities for 2022

Identifying wider industry priorities that BAG should be addressing in our agenda for 2022, including target markets, knowledge sharing and events

To take part in the BAG Annual Survey 2021, please click hereThe deadline for completing the survey is the 29 October 2021. Should you feel that there is additional information that you would wish to share or particular metrics that would help to promote your sector(s) then please let us know.

BAG Members Day & Networking Reception- Getting back to business!

On the 21 October 2021, BAG will be holding our first LIVE BAG Members Day in 2021 in central London from 13:30-17:00 followed by a Networking Reception. The event will be themed around: Getting back to business & re-evaluating your business strategy post Covid.

This year, the BAG Members Day will be run as an interactive workshop for all member companies focusing around getting back to business post COVID in a new and changed environment.

The workshop will

  • provide BAG members with a platform to hear about what’s happening currently in industryan outlook on a likely recovery timeline, changes to passengers behaviour, airport thinking and investor mindsets
  • help members understand what are upcoming key factors that will influence aviation businesses in the short-/mid- and longer term
  • give members the opportunity to share their own stories in facilitated group conversations that will be used to help the Board shape representative views which will be shared with Government bodies to help them shape policy
  • understand more about campaign groups such as The Future of Aviation Group set up to support the aviation, travel and tourism industries as they look to recover from the impacts of Covid
  • Begin the journey of re-evaluating your business strategy post Covid and in light of the industry transition towards sustainable aviation through learning about how Connected Places Catapult, the UK's innovation accelerator for cities, transport, and places, and their role as an innovation catalyst

The event will also

  • address how BAG’s priorities have changed over the course of the pandemic
  • give members the opportunity to be part of the process in feeding into the 2022 BAG Strategic Plan and connect with Board members
  • provide members with the opportunity to share their own views and suggestions on how BAG as a trade body can support the wider aviation supply chain moving forwards.

In preparation for the workshop, we encourage members to complete the BAG Annual Survey 2021. We have tailored the survey to focus more on the wider challenges facing the industry (especially impact from COVID and Brexit) and priorities to support recovery – which will help provide an agenda and evidence base for engagement with government and other strategic partners, as well as our own plans for 2022. Initial findings from the survey will be discussed at the BAG Members Day and will help shape the BAG priorities for 2022. Please complete the survey
here!

We do hope to welcome you at the BAG Members Day for an insightful and collaborative workshop!
