International Women’s Day (IWD) took place on the 8 March 2022, an important day globally which marked a call to action to accelerate gender parity and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It’s a day at British Aviation Group (BAG) we are proud to recognise.  BAG is proud to support the ‘Women in Aviation & Aerospace charter” and believe this is an important step towards achieving a more diverse workforce in aviation.
 
At BAG we know we are on a journey and we are committed to being a a diverse and inclusive organisation, which reflects the communities and society in which we serve. It’s important to acknowledge that women are underrepresented in our industry and indeed in our own organisation and while this is beginning to change, progress is slower than we would like. We recognise that a diverse and inclusive workforce leads to more holistic decision making, increased innovation, higher performance, and importantly greater employee engagement.
 
This is a particularly exciting times for us as we look to the future of BAG; for the first time ever our Next Generation group has an has an all-female elected leadership, which presents a fantastic opportunity for us to inspire and show young women what is achievable.
 
Our first event in celebration of IWD is a virtual roundtable which sees us bring together the women on our Board and members of our ‘Next Gen’  group. BAG Northern Ireland Regional Networking Reception - 22 March 2022 *Book now!*

On 22 March 2022 BAG will be holding our Regional Networking Reception in Belfast from 16:00-18:00 at the Titanic Hotel. We are delighted to announce our Ministerial speaker The Rt. Hon. Conor Burns MP, Minister of State for Northern Ireland, as well as our guest speaker Larry O’Toole, Head of Functions – Infrastructure at Dublin Airport.

We are looking forward to hearing from the Minister of State for Northern Ireland on his outlooks for Northern Ireland and the aviation sector, and specifically on Union Connectivity assessing transport links between the nations of the UK. We are excited to receive an update from Dublin Airport on their plans for 2022 and we have invited Belfast City Airport, Belfast International Airport as well as City of Derry Airport with whom the British Aviation Group has strong relationships.
BAG facilitates three BAG Regions (one of which being Northern Ireland) which allow BAG members to have a voice and forum in the locality. Their aim is to provide a focus for members to help improve their penetration of UK, the local airport market and global aviation markets using the region as a focus for sharing information, collaboration and networking.

BAG Regions are open to all BAG members, but it is hoped that they will enable greater participation in BAG by the regional offices of BAG member companies and attract new members for whom a London based offer has been too difficult to access.

After the great success of the BAG Northern Region followed by the BAG Scottish Region, BAG launched the Northern Ireland Region in November 2019 and we very much hope that you will be able to join us at the reception, which will provide a unique opportunity for engagement with a rich cross section of the UK aviation community
Please join us to meet the BAG Northern Ireland Chair Brian Lewis from RSK Group and Deputy Chair Freddie Patterson from Lagan Construction and to network with key industry leaders and enjoy some canapés and drinks.

Heathrow Airport Update- BAG Joint ACG & EOSG meeting 2022- 24 February 2022 *Recording & Slides Available*

The BAG Joint Airport Consultants Group (ACG) and Equipment & Operations Suppliers Group (EOSG) held their first face to face meeting of the year on the 24th February 2022 from 10:00-12:00 at the ADS office followed by a networking lunch. The group welcomed guest speaker Paul Doherty, Procurement Director who gave an update on Heathrow Airport. Please find the recording of the presentation here as well as the supporting document.
BAG Business Intelligence Highlight Report *Now Available*

BAG’s Business Intelligence and Strategic Relationship Working Groups come together regularly to try and collect as much intelligence as they can to gather on what is happening in the market, both now and how things change as we the sector recovers and rebuilds.
This document focuses on two key topics:

  • What’s happening at UK airports.
  • What’s happing in the International markets, particularly in the priority markets we set for this year in discussion with DIT. Based on what we learn should we be resetting those priorities or focussing on other opportunities

Over the course of the last few years we have been publishing quarterly Business Intelligence Updates which are released via the BAG website and shared with our membership. The latest January 2022 Business Intelligence Update is a Highlight report which can now be found on the BAG website together with all past editions. You can find the documents here.

DIT: UK Tradeshow Programme & Promotional Toolkit

DIT have provided a UK Tradeshow Promotional Toolkit which provides background about the programme, guidance on how to use the resource, access to downloadable assets – e.g. Branded promotional banners and motion graphics, and suggested copy for use on social media platforms, websites and in newsletters. Over the years the BAG stand at PTE has grown considerably, becoming one of the main networking hubs for the aviation industry to meet and do business. This is due to our BAG member companies sponsoring the stand and drawing in the interest and key players in the industry.

The BAG Sponsorship stand package is one of the most affordable and effective ways to exhibit at this world class show.  The location for 2022 means companies will benefit from a very visible presence at the show due to our stand location.  The package is sold to the BAG members only, which will ensure our members receive the most exclusive service.

UK Pavilion Airport Show Dubai 2022- *Register your Interest!*

17-19 May 2022

We are delighted to announce that we looking to host once again a UK Pavilion at Airport Show Dubai this year and wanted to give you the opportunity to register your interest for this year’s event. We are currently finalising the packages and information in relation to this event, which we hope to be able to release soon. 
 
The UK Pavilion is located within Hall 2 next to the French Pavilion and very close to the Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects and Hosted Buyers Lounge so an ideal location for high footfall.

As with other BAG events we have dedicated contractors to assist with your participation at the event.  These details will follow once a booking has been confirmed. If you have an interest in exhibiting with us then please reply to Claire Parsons
