The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) released its first-ever Equity Action Plan as part of the Biden-Harris Administration’s whole-of-government equity agenda. The DOT’s Equity Action Plan highlights work that the Department will undertake across four focus areas; wealth creation, power of community, interventions, and expanding access. The intention of the plan is to expand access and opportunity to all communities while focusing on underserved, overburdened, and disadvantaged ones. This Equity Action Plan is a major milestone for the DOT that represents a shift in how they view and deliver transportation programs.
