Southampton Airport tells local council its future depends on a runway extension

The statement is part of new information submitted to the Council last month in support of its planning application for a 164-metre runway extension.

Southampton Airport says it is “unlikely to operate at a level more than approximately 50% of the level of operations before the collapse of Flybe without the runway extension in the foreseeable future”. At the level of operations forecast without the extension the airport “would be loss-making”....read here
