Planning permission was successfully secured in July to demolish a hangar at London Luton Airport and construct an aircraft apron in its place to maintain aircraft parking capacity for business jets.
The project incorporates a GSE maintenance facility for client Signature Flight Support, the World's largest FBO operator. The apron will have capability to accommodate up to Code D size aircraft.
Project manager and lead designer for the scheme is Fjori Limited, London-based specialists in airfield infrastructure development. The growing Fjori team has worked at over 25 airports since incorporation in 2011, including in Brazil, Canada, Saudi Arabia and UK.
