London City Airport (LCY) has begun a major £12 million revamp in a bid to lure more travellers through its terminal in 2023.

Designers say the refurbishment will transform the hub’s departures areas, adding 30% more seating, two new restaurants and a newly expanded duty-free area, not to mention state-of-the-art toilets for all your airport needs.

The works are set to be completed by summer 2023, and will be carried out in phases with new food, beverage and retail units opening before the old ones close. Customers, the airport says, will barely notice the transition though will benefit from the extra space and amenities in what has become a handy, yet very cramped little airport terminal.
