Saudi Arabia's King Salman has officially opened the new £5.1bn terminal at King Abdul Aziz International Airport, in Jeddah.

Pascall+Watson collaborated with Atkins and Areen Design to design and deliver the new 810,000² facility, which will increase the airport’s capacity to 30 million passengers per year, with plans for 80 million by 2035.

The terminal, which is one of the largest in the world, caters for the ever-increasing demand for air travel in the region and creates a strategic international hub for the city of Jeddah.
