ICCAN

The Independent Commission on Civil Aviation Noise (ICCAN) published their Corporate Strategy on 18 March 2021, setting out its goals and objectives for the next three years, as they seek to improve the way aviation noise is managed. ICCAN also published their report on the future of aviation noise management, which identified eight policy areas that were fundamental to the management and understanding of aviation noise. Their review of the regulatory landscape and existing enforcement mechanisms relating to aviation noise found that the current framework in which airports, airlines and others operate is complex, hard to navigate, and it isn’t always clear where responsibility or accountability lies.
