Hong Kong International finished 2023 strongly and is now expecting to reach full post-COVID recovery by the end of 2024.
The airport's recovery, however, is not yet complete, with passenger numbers in December 2023 only at 66% of pre-pandemic levels in December 2018.
There is hope for a faster recovery in 2024, as traffic volumes increase from all major markets, including Mainland China, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia, and with the resumption of group travel.
