Following a very weak January and February, passenger numbers in March for Heathrow were the highest since the start of the pandemic, following the Government’s removal of all travel restrictions.

In 2019 the throughput was 80.9m with four active terminals.  With a March figure of 4,197,000 persons at least 60m can be expected this year with the peak summer months back to near normal.  However, the retirement of the Boeing 747 by British Airways, replaced by slightly smaller Airbus A350s, and the number of A380s available will have a knock-on effect.  The situation regarding an opening date for T4 remains unclear.
