The original president of COP26 Claire O’Neill has called for better transport links to be developed to connect into the UK’s airports.
O’Neill – who now acts as managing director at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development – told NCE that she was not opposed to airport expansions, but instead wanted to see airports integrated into public transport plans.
She warned that “some airports run a real risk of becoming stranded assets”, leading to greater carbon emissions from motorists.
