Global air and travel services provider, dnata, has significantly expanded its operations at Erbil International Airport (EBL) in Iraq with the opening of a new, advanced cool chain facility and a bus maintenance facility.

The new additions represent a total investment of $3.5 million for dnata, and it hasn’t finished there as the company has also unveiled plans to spend an additional $14 million on a new 16,000sqm cargo warehouse.

The new cool chain facility is capable of processing 10,000 tons of perishables annually. The new bus maintenance facility is designed to maintain dnata’s fleet of eight passenger apron buses and over 10 transportation buses operated at EBL.

And dnata’s new cargo warehouse, which is expected to open in 2023, will be capable of processing 100,000 tonnes of cargo annually, with a special focus on pharma and other cool chain commodities.
