Multiple flights were at risk of collisions with drones and unknown objects in recent months, Airprox reports show. Reports on two incidents involving Heathrow Airport were released recently following a meeting on October 11.

The UK Airprox Board gathers data to assess the risk of collision in each individual encounter with the aim of enhancing air safety in the UK. The reports on these recent incidents have now been released and have found that safety had been reduced.

One such incident from July 25 involved a Boeing 787 on departure from Heathrow Airport when the pilot spotted a suspected drone at an altitude of around 3,000 feet. It was apparent that the drone, which was white and had multiple props, would pass under the left side of the plane.
