BAG ACC Virtual Global Business Summit- Experience & Inclusivity: Developing the Airport Environment- *Register Now*
BAG and ACC traditionally come together once a year to deliver a Global Business Summit. This year we are happy to announce we are delivering two virtual sessions. On 11 February 2021 we hosted Part 1 of the series looking at Recovery and the Climate Challenge - Securing our License to Grow, with guest speakers from ACI World, IATA and the FAA. You can find the recording here.
Part 2 of the BAG ACC Global Summit 2021 will be held on 24 June 2021, and will focus on the opportunities for developing the airport environment for the benefit of both travellers and the many other users that occupy the airport space.

The session will be arranged around the themes of: Re-Start; Innovation; Inclusivity. Starting with Re-Start and increasing passenger numbers, the session will examine how new processes and procedures in the short term can be managed to maintain an acceptable environment.  Progressing to the medium term, we will review the potential of innovation for improving the experience for all airport users in a positive and inclusive way.

Our Speakers include:

  • Christina Cassotis, Chief Executive Officer, Allegheny County Airport Authority (Pittsburgh Airport)
  • Ginger Evans, Chief Strategy Officer, CAG Holdings (Carlyle Airport Group)
  • Elizabeth Hegarty, Customer Relations & Service Director, Heathrow Airport
  • John Wildman, Vice President Airport Commercial Services, MAG USA
  • IATA speaker tbc

BAG Annual Dinner 2021 Update- *Save the date*
We are delighted to announce that the date we have reserved for what would traditionally be the BAG Annual Dinner in September will this year be held as a live BAG Networking Reception on Wednesday 29 September 2021 at The Brewery London.  As restrictions begin to lift and industry begins to recover, we wanted our main event of the year to be as inclusive as possible to all members and clients, and we have therefore chosen to host a Networking Reception rather than a classic sit-down black-tie event. Further details on the BAG 2021 Networking Reception will be made available in the coming months, but please save the date already now in your diaries!

BAG Business Intelligence Document *Updated version available*
BAG’s Business Intelligence and Strategic Relationship Working Groups have been producing regular Business Intelligence Updates over the past year to try and collect as much intelligence as they can to gather on what is happening in the market, both now and how things change throughout the pandemic. The Board agreed to focus these discussions onto four topics:

  • What’s happening at UK airports. We are hearing of capital plans being put back. When might some of those come back, in what form etc.
  • What’s happening in the International markets, particularly in the priority markets we set for this year in discussion with DIT. Based on what we learn should we be resetting those priorities or focusing on other opportunities

Over the course of the last year we have been publishing quarterly Business Intelligence Updates which are released via the BAG website and shared with our membership. The latest May 2021 Business Intelligence Update can now be found on the BAG website together with all past editions. You can find the documents here.

DIT Call for Input on the UK 's future trade relationships

DIT: Launch of Call for Input on the UK’s future trade relationships with Canada and Mexico.

The UK Government is starting preparations for trade negotiations with Canada and Mexico to upgrade our existing trade deals. The UK signed Trade Continuity Agreements with both Canada and Mexico before the end of the Transition Period and committed to start negotiating new Free Trade Agreements later this year. We are seeking your input on which aspects of current trading arrangements with Canada and Mexico we should look to improve or amend in our new, more ambitious deals. Please complete the Call for Input online which is open from 18 May to 12 July 2021.

Launch of Call for Input on the UK’s future trade relationship with India.
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement in May 2021 of the UK’s intent to negotiate a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with India, we are preparing for this negotiation. Input is being sought from members of the public, businesses, and any other interested parties to hear their top priorities for a future trade deal with India and where they think the biggest gains from such a deal may lie.
The Government is committed to negotiating new deals that are tailored to the needs of the whole of the UK and invite you to give your views via DIT’s Call for Input. Please complete the
Call for Input online.  The consultation closes at 23:45 on 31 August.
