Aviation’s transition to net zero by 2050 will cost $5 trillion, Global Economic Summit heard

Flights at risk because of 32 million annual passenger limit cannot be simply moved to regional airports such as Cork or Shannon, the Global Economic Summit heard.

Alice Mansergh, chief executive of Tourism Ireland, said Dublin airport is knocking up against a passenger cap of 32 million, but said not every regional airport is viable to use for overflow.
