While the passenger traffic for most airports declined sharply in 2020, it’s been picking up since, and some airports have even surpassed their pre-2020 levels.
These are the top ten airports with the fastest-growing passenger traffic in 2023, according to data from aviation analytics company Cirium:
- Cancún, Mexico: 37% increase in passengers since Q1 of 2019
- Miami: 23% increase in passengers from Q1 of 2019
- Cairo: 23% increase in passenger traffic since Q1 of 2019
- Istanbul (IST): 22% growth in passenger traffic since Q1 of 2019
- Bogotá (BOG): 21% growth since Q1 of 2019
- Las Vegas (LAS): 20% growth since Q1 of 2019
- Chongqing (CKG): 19% growth since Q1 of 2019
- Zhengzhou (CGO): 18% growth since Q1 of 2019
- Orlando (MCO): 16% growth since Q1 of 2019
- Sao Paulo (CGH): 16% growth since Q1 of 2019
