Local and international passengers could have access to a new terminal at Ontario International Airport as well as a new parking garage in the coming years as part of the ONT BOLD project, authorities announced Thursday, May 7.
Preliminary project information proposes a new large terminal, dubbed Terminal 3, that will connect to the existing Terminals 2 and 4.
The new terminal is proposed to have approximately 650,000 square feet of interior space, Federal Inspection Services, security and passenger processing facilities.
Additionally, some gates will have specialized boarding ramps that can accommodate two narrowbody or one widebody aircraft.
Also proposed is a six-story parking structure and a new three-story rental car facility that will be located in the area of Parking Lots 3 and 4.
Runway and infrastructure improvements are also included in the plan, along with updates to modernize Terminals 2 and 4.
