The sheer volume of visitor traffic (even during winter months) going through the terminal automatic entrance/exit doorways meant the cold external air was rushing into the building, creating both energy loss concerns and staff discomfort in the immediate vicinity.
After comparison with other options/manufacturers, Enershield air barriers were installed on two sets of doors.
Installed during a "cold snap" in December, the benefits were seen immediately. Desk staff were able to turn off their standalone heaters and again work in comfortable attire, energy savings were made within the terminal buildings and internal temperatures can now be more accurately controlled.
