The airport’s terminal investment programme is designed to provide passengers with a world-class experience

We embarked on a significant investment programme in our terminal to ensure we provide passengers with a world-class experience from their local
airport”.
As part of the investment, Newcastle became the first UK regional airport to fully implement Next Generation Security screening technology two months ahead of the 1 June deadline originally set by the Government, allowing passengers to leave all electronics and liquids in their hand luggage. The security
search area was also fully refurbished.
Following customer feedback, it also refurbished many of the catering outlets in its departure lounge and expanded and refurbished its executive lounge.
