Sojitz, together with Saudi Arabia’s development and investment company Vision Invest and Korean airport operator Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC), has announced the signing of a 35-year concession agreement with Uzbekistan Airports for the development and operation of a new international airport planned for the capital city, Tashkent.
Scheduled to open in 2030, the new airport is projected to cost more than 370 billion JPY, and establish the site as Central Asia’s largest aviation hub for passenger transport, cargo and logistics.
The project will be developed and operated by Sojitz, Vision Invest, IIAC and Uzbekistan Airports, with each company set to leverage the collective expertise in order to deliver a safe and convenient new airport...
