Mexican defense ministry Sedena is close to concluding the 84.9bn-peso (US$4bn) Felipe Ángeles international airport (AIFA) that it plans to inaugurate in less than 100 days.
The project has reached a completion progress of 81.2%, major José de Jesús Cantoral, the AIFA military engineer, told local publication Milenio over the weekend.
Progress has advanced 10% compared to the last update in October. Works kicked off in October 2019.
As ordered by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), Sedena plans to inaugurate the first phase of the airport, located in Mexico state at the Santa Lucía military airbase, on March 21.
