The Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (LTSAAS) in Subang, Selangor will be developed into a green airport, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said today.
Issues concerning pollution will be dealt with prior to the airport’s development, he told reporters at a press conference at AirAsia RedQ today.
“The whole airport will be developed into a green airport so environmental issues will be taken into account before any operations begin,” he said.
Loke said allowing jet services to return to LTSAAS should not be an issue with the new generation of aircraft, in response to concerns that it could cause noise pollution for residents nearby.
“We’re talking about new generation aircraft,” he said.
The deadline given by the transport ministry to Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad to submit its development plans is the end of this quarter.
