Simple Flying - Andrew Curran
Western Australia has come in from the cold. At 00:01 local time on Thursday 03 March 2022, the hard-line Australian state finally opened its borders to fully vaccinated travelers. The reopening ends more than 700 days of border restrictions and closures. As the clock passed midnight, the flights began landing, with an estimated 8,000 inbound passengers expected over the next two days.
The relaxed regime doesn't just apply to travelers flying in from other Australian states, it also applies to international arrivals subject to them meeting standard Australian Federal Government vaccination and testing criteria. After two years, every Australian state and territory is now open to fully vaccinated travelers.
