The Greek government on Tuesday approved the concession agreement for the operation and development of Kalamata International Airport, paving the way for major infrastructure upgrades aimed at strengthening tourism and connectivity in the southern Peloponnese.

The 40-year concession concerns the administration, management, operation, maintenance, expansion and commercial exploitation of Kalamata International Airport “Captain Vassilis Constantakopoulos”.

The approval by Greece’s Cabinet follows the selection of the Fraport-led consortium as preferred investor in late 2024. The consortium consists of Germany’s Fraport AG with a 51 percent stake, alongside Greece’s Delta Airport Investments, part of the Copelouzos Group, and Pileas SA, linked to the Constantakopoulos Group, each holding 24.5 percent...
