Regional airports in Donegal, Kerry, and Ireland West (Knock) will receive over EUR 5.6 million in government funding for the Regional Airports Programme 2021-2025. The funding supports capital investment in these airports' safety, security, and sustainability projects. The allocations are EUR 1.299 million for Donegal, EUR 0.681 million for Kerry, and EUR 3.666 million for Ireland West.
These investments will help the airports meet carbon reduction targets and enhance climate resilience.
Significant projects include ground lighting at Donegal Airport, runway remediation and new security equipment at Kerry Airport, a new fire tender and fire training centre at Ireland West Airport, and the upgrade to electric vehicles at Kerry and Ireland West. #1216.1
