Heathrow West’s total sunk costs associated with its airport expansion plans are expected to be a tenth of Heathrow Airport Ltd’s (HAL’s) £500M planning and construction bill, NCE can reveal.
As reported last week, HAL has been left with a £500M bill relating to planning and early construction costs. On top of this HAL estimates wind down costs to be £46M.
The Court of Appeal blocked the £14bn expansion in February due to climate change concerns, while in May the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said the plans were "unlikely" to re-start in the "short term"...more
