Scaffolding will be erected across the front of the airport terminal building today and will remain for at least the next year.

The roof has experienced numerous structural failures in high winds and work is required to rectify problems with cladding.

In the past couple of years, small-scale scaffold structures have been erected in various areas to allow access to the roof for ongoing monitoring and repairs.

Scaffolding was erected along the airside section of the terminal in April and contractors have nearly completed the upper sections on the east and west elevations. Their attention will now turn to the south-facing entrance side.
