Flights diverted at Bristol Airport as runway surface damaged

A number of flights were diverted from Bristol Airport over the bank holiday weekend because of a damaged runway.

An issue with the surface of a runway at the airport caused four flights to divert as others were delayed on Saturday, May 23.

The airport did not confirm what happened to the runway to cause damage to the surface.

The damaged runway was repaired and it was then able to reopen...
