The boss of Heathrow has warned that air fares will soar unless a new set of international airport health and safety standards are agreed 'within six weeks'. 

In an interview with The Mail on Sunday, John Holland-Kaye said the number of people allowed on planes would fall by a third if passengers are forced to stay two metres apart under strict social distancing rules to deal with coronavirus risks. 

Airlines would need to increase prices to remain 'economically viable', he said, warning that 'normal, hard-working people' might be priced out of air travel....more
