Dubai International Airport (DXB) kicked off the year with its busiest quarter ever, reinforcing its position as a major global aviation center and a crucial contributor to both Dubai’s economy and the aviation sector in the Middle East.

In the first quarter, DXB experienced a notable rise in passenger traffic, with 23 million travelers moving through its terminals—an 8.4% increase over the same period last year. This surge highlights DXB’s strong pull in major markets and its role in bolstering Dubai’s status as a key international hub for tourism and commerce. The total passenger count for the quarter was 23,052,060, with January seeing the peak traffic of 7.9 million guests.

In the first quarter, DXB reported a total of 109,238 flight movements, marking an 8.3% year-over-year increase. The load factor stood at 79.1%, with an average of 217 passengers per aircraft movement, slightly down from 220 in the same period the previous year.

The airport’s sophisticated baggage system handled 26.8 million bags during this period, demonstrating DXB’s operational efficiency and its commitment to providing smooth travel experiences.
