The Commonwealth of Dominica has been heavily invested in constructing a top-of-the-line, world-class International Airport in the country. The country seeks to transform into a tourism-based economy and the construction of the airport is a significant step towards this mandate.
The government understands the magnitude of the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that the construction of the airport presents. Accordingly, they have been taking all the necessary steps to ensure that there is no compromise in quality.
Prime Minister of Dominica, Dr Roosevelt Skerrit makes it a point to regularly visit the airport construction site in Wesley to check on the progress. During one of these visits, he spoke to the media about the significance of the project. He also informed them about the significance of the site of construction.
Government of the commonwealth of Dominica estimated the value of the International Airport Project at EC $1.3 Billion in the direct construction cost. The administration is diligently making sure that only the highest quality of machinery and equipment is being used in the construction.
