Newcastle International Airport has begun the search for a contractor to undertake runway rehabilitation works worth £20M.
This is part of the airport's runway resurfacing programme.
Work includes a runway surface rehabilitation, localised deep inlays, construction of additional blast strip, new runway and taxiway surface markings and an upgrade of all existing aeronautical ground lighting to LED.
The deadline for receipt of tenders is 6 December 2023.
