Changes are coming for visitors looking to park at John Glenn Columbus International Airport.

Starting on May 4, the airport’s Walking Lot will permanently close, according to an announcement from the Columbus Regional Airport Authority. A new public safety building will go in its place as part of the new terminal project known as CMH Next. The new public safety building will include offices, training facilities and the public safety communications center.

Construction is underway on the CMH Next $2 billion airport project, which includes a new, nearly one-million-square-foot terminal, public safety building and a parking garage connected by a pedestrian bridge, offering more than 5,000 spaces. The facility is expected to open in early 2029...
