The landing of a Cathay Pacific Airbus A350 on Friday inaugurated the operation of Hong Kong International Airport’s third runway.
The opening of the third runway at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) at an official commissioning ceremony on 25 November marked the final milestone of the airport’s expansion into a Three-runway System (3RS).
The commissioning ceremony, held at the new Integrated Airport Centre of HKIA, was officiated by Chan Kwok-ki, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR).
