Another chance to improve airport security screening!
Following the Connected Places Catapults recent call for aviation security innovation, they have another opportunity for organisations to share ideas for improving how improvised explosive device (IED) components are detected in airport hold baggage.
The Department for Transport (DfT) is inviting expressions of interest from organisations with relevant technologies, expertise or capabilities that could help advance detection and overcome barriers to real-world deployment.
What are we looking for?
- Detection technology: Solutions to improve IED component detection and integrate with existing screening systems.
- Testing and assurance: Access to data and facilities, practical trials, certification and evidence gathering.
- Operational improvements: Addressing regulatory barriers, airport processes and workforce skills.
- Collaboration: Partnerships between airports, technology developers, equipment manufacturers and research specialists.
Why express your interest?
Successful expressions of interest will be invited to join the Aviation Security Innovation Programme (ASIP) Cluster, which brings together aviation security stakeholders, industry partners, and developers to support and fund the development of new airport security technologies.
Expressing your interest can give you a valuable opportunity to find and engage with potential partners ahead of the programme application period.
Complete our short form by 21 October. Expresss Your Interest now!
