Birmingham Airport (BHX) in the UK has celebrated handing the 10 millionth customer in its current financial year.
According to the airport, the milestone represents a story of the steady recovery for BHX, which emerged from the COVID-19 deep-freeze back in March 2022, when travel restrictions were lifted.
Compared to the previous financial year (2021/22), 2022/23 has so far seen a 269% uplift in passengers flying going through BHX.
Tom Screen, BHX’s aviation director, said: “If this time last year you’d have told me that BHX will deliver 10 million passengers in the next 12 months, I would not have believed you.
