The FAA shared a list of selected projects to be funded in FY2023 under the FAA Contract Tower Competitive Grant Program (FCT Competitive) made available under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL).
The FAA will make available 33 grants equaling $20 million for 29 airports to modernize air traffic control towers at many small towns and municipal airports.
These funds will allow airports to sustain, construct, repair, improve, rehabilitate, modernize, replace, or relocate non-approach control towers; acquire and install air traffic control, communications, and related equipment to be used in those towers; and construct a remote tower certified by the FAA.
