Heathrow were delighted to welcome six Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to attend our first ever Lift Off event on 13 March at the Compass Centre. The event focussed on the theme of sustainability and SMEs applied though our recently launched CompeteFor platform.

Lift Off is a new concept developed in 2022 as an additional way to attract and work with SMEs. It provides the chance for selected innovative SMEs to present their products and services to a panel made up of Heathrow and its largest supply chain partner organisations.

A range of companies attended, with three of these companies having their head office based in London and the other three from around the country. The size of companies varied from micro to medium, with some relatively newly founded to those more well established.

The companies in attendance were Blast Studio, OMK Design, Design & Display Structure Ltd, Evotrack Ltd, SSAF Window Films Ltd and ASD Lighting Plc.

The panel included a mixture of Heathrow and its suppliers. On the panel were Paul Doherty, Louise McNab, Louise Harris and Matt Prescott from Heathrow and Elisabeth Montgomerie - Atkins, Richard Miles - Mace, Andy Clarke - Costain, Alan Maunder - Mitie and David Beare - Mott Macdonald.

Future Lift Off events will be held on a quarterly basis geared around chosen themes that differ at each event throughout the year. We will also select a panel tailored to each event to create the best possible environment for success. The Q2 event has just been published on Heathrow’s CompeteFor microsite.

The theme for the Q2 event is Passenger Experience. Please apply via the link below:
