Coronavirus (COVID-19) Business Support Bulletin

ADS members are reminded that if they want additional employees to access the Job Retention Scheme and its flexibilities they must be registered on the scheme by 10 June. We have expressed our concerns with this deadline to the Government and will inform you if any changes are made.

This week we are anticipating further guidance for aviation passengers and operators from the Department for Transport. While the guidance is a welcome step to achieving a more normal return to flying, progress is still being hindered by the Government’s quarantine period. ADS continues to talk to the Government about alternative measures which can provide a boost to the industry whilst working to avoid a second peak

This deadline is because after 30 June, only employees who have been furloughed for at least 3 consecutive weeks can be put on furlough again. From 1 July, there will be a flexible furlough scheme that means employers will be able to choose when and how to bring employees on and off the furlough scheme. View key dates here

MOD GUIDANCE ON UK
BORDER RESTRICTIONS

The MOD has published guidance on the UK border restrictions which came into force from 8 June. Defence personnel/suppliers are specifically referenced as being exempt from the restrictions where work is necessary in support of the delivery of essential defence activities. However, Ministerial direction is that exemptions should be used sparingly and only in exceptional circumstances where there would be a clear impact to critical Defence activities.
