A 10,000sq m indoor tropical garden in a central concourse and a 268sq m water feature as the focal point are part of major expansion plans revealed last week for Doha’s Hamad International Airport.
Construction is set to start early next year and will increase the airport’s capacity to more than 53m passengers annually by 2022. Phase B, to be completed “after 2022”, will extend concourses D and E to bring capacity to more than 60m.
