Alan Lamond has been awarded the BAG (British Aviation Group) Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Aviation, the award was presented by Declan Collier, CEO of London City Airport.
With 25 years’ experience in the aviation sector, Alan has been involved in the design and delivery of over 75 different terminals, at over 65 airports, in over 30 counties and has participated in over 50 transportation conferences.
Alan’s experience with civil aviation projects throughout the UK includes Aberdeen, Birmingham, East Midlands, Gatwick, Heathrow, Leeds Bradford, London City, Luton, Manchester, Stansted and Southampton airports. Together with numerous studies to improve capacity and passenger experience in Africa, Asia and Europe.
He has been the principal architect for a full range of projects embracing all stages of the architectural spectrum, from modest internal terminal modifications, through to the £4.3billion Heathrow Terminal 5.
Alan led the Dublin Airport Masterplan Study and went on to lead the design of the new €609m Terminal 2. Most recently, he led the design team on the Beijing New International Airport competition as Chief Architect, which Pascall+Watson delivered in association with Zaha Hadid architects, is the Project Director for the new terminal at Jeddah King Abdulaziz Airport in Saudi Arabia and was the Project Director for the new terminal and redevelopment at Pulkovo International Airport in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Alan completed a four year term as Chairman and is currently Vice Chairman of the British Aviation Group, the leading representative body for UK companies involved in the airport and aviation development sector.
