In 2014 Incheon Airport reported its busiest year ever following a marked increase in passengers and the growth of low-cost airlines. In the same year the airport, its transportation hub designed by Farrells, was awarded the Skytrax Best Airport Award for 40-50 million passengers.
This latest award follows a consistent stream of accolades, including being rated the best airport worldwide by the Airports Council International for nine years in a row (2005 - 2013); Skytrax World's Best Airport for Transit Passengers in 2014 and 2013; and the overall winner of the Skytrax World's Best Airport in 2012 and 2009.
