Amey has recently carried out the design of two stand reconfigurations to support Edinburgh Airport's growth in long haul traffic. Careful planning and design maximises the use of existing apron pavement and infrastructure including passenger boarding bridges and docking guidance.
The first of these was completed in May 2014 for Qatar Airlines' Boeing's 787 Dreamliner service to Doha.
The second is currently underway for Etihad Airways' Airbus A330 route to Abu Dhabi, which will commence in June 2015.
These services will allow connections to destinations across the Gulf region, Asia, Australia and Africa and reflect the growth in traffic through Middle East airports.
