European airports today marked significant progress in their climate efforts, with 328 airports in 38 countries now committed to achieving Net Zero emissions under their direct control. Among them, 36 airports have already achieved this milestone.
As the European airport industry gathers in Prague for the 36th ACI EUROPE Annual Congress & General Assembly, the latest update of the European Airport Industry Net Zero Resolution highlights growth in both participation and ambition across the airport sector.
The latest update reveals that:
- 328 airports across 38 countries have now committed to reach Net Zero by 2050 or earlier. These airports account for 83% of European passenger traffic.
- 14 new airports have joined this collective commitment compared to last year, with new signatories including: Alghero, Florence, Olbia Costa Smeralda, Pisa, Tirana, Avignon‑Provence, Caen‑Carpiquet, Deauville, Rouen, Atatürk, Dalaman, Rize-Artvin, Limak‑Kosovo and Bacău airports.
