The abandoned Manston Airport in Kent could be back in business by 2029 if new plans are given the go-ahead. The airport, which closed in 2014, is slated to reopen as a freight hub before the end of the decade.

Since 2019, an investment firm has been striving to resurrect the facility. RiverOak Strategic Partners (RSP) purchased the airport for £16.5 million in 2019, initially aiming to reopen by 2025, but this was postponed due to spiralling costs.

As RSP continues with business development discussions with airlines and cargo operators, the planning process has now entered its third stage...
