The Cartagena International Airport Operator (OINAC) secured 887 billion pesos (US$241.9 million) to finance the modernization and expansion of Colombia's Rafael Núñez International Airport in Cartagena. This marks the first privately initiated airport Public-Private Partnership (PPP) under the country's 5G infrastructure program.
Modernization Scope
- New International Terminal: Construction of a new 17,360-square-meter international terminal.
- Renovation: Upgrades and renovation of over 25,000 square meters, including the existing terminal.
- Expansion: Enlarging the commercial platform by 15,740 square meters and building a parallel runway road.
- Timeline: The major works are scheduled to be completed over the next 2.5 years to support the airport's passenger traffic.
