Ryanair launched a fresh attack against Fraport Greece on Wednesday, accusing the airport operator of functioning as “a monopoly” and damaging the competitiveness of the Greek aviation sector.

The Irish low-cost airline called on the Greek government to “break up the Fraport Greece monopoly” in order to introduce greater competition into the country’s aviation market.

Ryanair claimed that Fraport Greece’s policies had made “Greek aviation hopelessly uncompetitive compared to other European countries” and alleged that the operator retained the benefits of a Greek government tax reduction “to further line the pockets of its German shareholder.”..
