Vietnam's southern hub Ho Chi Minh City will shift over 90 percent of its international passenger traffic from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to the under-construction Long Thanh International Airport next year, local daily Thanh Nien reported Monday, citing the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV).
Under the plan proposed by ACV, the transition will begin with a partial shift and move toward the full transfer of international operations.
From Dec. 1, 2026, to March 27, 2027, about 19 percent of the city's international passenger traffic will be shifted from Tan Son Nhat airport to Long Thanh airport, with the aim of transferring more than 90 percent of the city's international passenger traffic by 2027...
